A colourway swaps the inks and keeps the rules. Process is the house set; Acid pop, Electric cool and Jewel are the alternates every component is tested in, in every volume, on both papers. Client colourways come from the helper and have to pass the same press check as everyone else. No favours.
The four colourways#
The lead, support and spot inks of each colourway on each paper. Each cell is printed in its own colourway, so what you see is what the CSS resolves, not a picture of it.

The same card, four ways#
One specimen, printed in each colourway at Studio. The reading layer does not move; the inks do.

Choosing one#
Set data-mk-colourway on <html> (or on a section, for a case study in a client's colours) and import the
colourway's CSS after the tokens. The colourway dial in this site's header does exactly that and remembers your pick.
Process is the default and needs no import.
Client colourways#
The helper derives a full colourway from one to three brand colours, reports every role it had to adjust ("lead darkened so paper text passes") and exports the CSS, the DTCG tokens and a TS literal. It runs the same pair matrix before it lets you export. It arrives with the generators.
